In March 2010, Pocket Tabs received a notice of alleged copyright infringement. According to the letter, guitar tablature, no matter how correct, complete, in whatever form is allegedly copyrighted by the various music publishers. Unfortunately, licensing these tablatures is a time-consuming, tedious, and complicated process, and thus completely cost-prohibitive. I sincerely hope that the industry changes and makes sharing of tabs as regular as music or lyrics.
To address this allegation, Pocket Tabs will cease the acceptance of tab submissions and remove the tab content from the site. On the app, you'll still be able to find tabs on the web, just not from this website.
